Welcome to Gouda's International Clown School!

Gouda's International Clown School's main goal is about being inspired. Inspiration for anyone who has an interest in clowning. A varied program will teach you many aspects of the Clown.

Beginning one of our courses does not really require experience. We will try to make it as easy as possible. Being interested, curious and having fun are important keywords at Gouda's International Clown School.

For one student it's about a new hobby, another wants to be trained to become a professional clown. So everyone sets their own goals and sometimes there might even be a plan...

Quite often clowning is a hobby, but there are students who already have performances. They even have the ambition to make a professional career as a clown. Of course we are very proud about this! It is an interesting development, especially because it's their own dream.

Training to be a clown takes a couple of years. Usually it is seen as a craft. And there are never enough good clowns.

All teachers work as a clown themselves. They have different backgrounds, a different approach and perception, but they share the same passion for clowning. They work, e.g. for Faria Clowns; CliniClowns; Sykehusklovernere in Oslo, Norway.

Gouda's International Clown School began in 2003 and is an initiative of Patrick van den Boom. In 2009 the team of teachers has increased, so there will be more workshops and courses.
